ALS Support Groups/Education Sessions in Alberta

The ALS Society of Alberta offers various support groups to help people living with ALS, their family and caregivers. There are ongoing programs in Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary.

2010 CALGARY ALS Group

Parking          In December, I was able to secure some of the parking spaces in the WEST lot for parking during support group. I will try to do this again. Therefore, if you think you might be coming to support group please let me know so we can let you know how we made out with our request. Otherwise, just remember that the parking lot to the east of the building is now a pay lot, maximum $5.00 on Saturdays. There is free parking on the south side of 23^rd Avenue and machine parking in the front of the building. 

2010 ALS Spouses Group (Calgary) 

The ALS Spouses Group is a group of individuals whose spouses have ALS or have had ALS, who get together and support each other in their journey.  The group is informal and offers support, guidance, problem solving and friendship. If you are interested in connecting with other spouses who understand your situation please contact Holly Gerrish at hgerrish@shaw.ca for more information.  This group generally meets the first Monday of the month for lunch

2010 RED DEER ALS Group

Groups in Central Alberta are for clients and families whether they attend the Edmonton Clinic or Calgary Clinic. The group gives you an opportunity to share the journey with others, find out what has worked for you in various situations. This group has been a tremendous support to those who have attended.
