The ALS Cornflower - A Symbol of Hope

The Cornflower is the international symbol of ALS.
It represents positive hope for the future.

The cornflower is an annual or biennial plant.
It originated in Mediterranean Europe and now flourishes across Canada.

The Cornflower symbolizes courage.
Despite its fragile appearance,
it can withstand both frost and drought.
Its peaceful, strong blue colour never fades,
no matter what it faces.

People with ALS show tremendous courage and
strength of character to cope with the devastating
changes that occur to their bodies.

As you pin on your cornflower to celebrate this remarkable courage, remember not just those affected by ALS, but also
all those who give of themselves, each in their own unique way, to help us make everyday the best possible day for people with ALS

ALS Cornflower Pins
The ALS Society of Alberta hands out Cornflower pins at events and fundraisers to create awareness for ALS. The vibrant blue color attracts attention and people often ask what it symbolizes, which is a wonderful way to spread awareness.

ALS Cornflower Seeds
Another way to show support is by planting blue cornflowers in your garden. The Cornflower is a hardy plant, despite its fragile appearance, with an annual or perennial variety found throughout Canada.

Both of these items make a great giveaway at events and to friends and family. To order either of the cornflower items, simply phone us at (403) 228-3857. We will be sure to get the order sent out from the office within one business day from the order date.

Cornflower Cards

Cornflower cards can be purchased individually for $2.50 or in a package of 5 for $10. These beautiful cards can be used as thank you cards, thinking of you cards, or anything cards! The Cornflower photos were taken by Kelly Eaton and Jane Rivest.
