DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of classic cars\, community\, and family fun at the Nifty Fifty Car Show\, hosted by Rocky Ridge Retirement Community in support of the ALS Society of Alberta. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or simply looking for a fun summer outing\, everyone is welcome to attend this free community event. \n\n\n\nBrowse an impressive display of classic Ford vehicles and other vintage automobiles\, enjoy live entertainment\, tasty snacks\, and connect with fellow community members while supporting Albertans living with and affected by ALS. \n\n\n\nHave a classic Ford or other classic car? \n\n\n\nVehicle registration is free\, and all classic vehicles are welcome. Space is limited and available on a first come\, first served basis. \n\n\n\nAdmission \n\n\n\nAttendance is free and open to everyone. \n\n\n\nWhile there is no cost to attend\, donations in support of the ALS Society of Alberta are greatly appreciated. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Howard Smith Memorial Team Roping as the event returns for its 23rd annual competition in support of the ALS Society of Alberta. \n\n\n\nHosted at the Howard Smith Memorial Arena in Eagle Valley\, this beloved community tradition brings together competitors\, families\, friends\, and supporters for an exciting day of team roping while raising funds for Albertans living with and affected by ALS. \n\n\n\nFounded in memory of Howard Smith\, who lived with ALS for 11 years\, this event has become a lasting tribute to his legacy and the strength of the community that continues to rally around the ALS Society of Alberta. Over the years\, the event has raised nearly $120\,000 to help fund essential client services\, equipment\, and support programs across the province. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re entering the competition or coming to cheer from the sidelines\, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. \n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\nDate: Sunday\, August 23\, 2026Location: Howard Smith Memorial Arena\, Eagle Valley \n\n\n\n\nEntries: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM\n\n\n\nTeam Roping Begins: 1:00 PM\n\n\n\nNo new entries will be accepted after 12:30 PM.\n\n\n\n\nEvent Highlights\n\n\n\n\nTeam roping competition\n\n\n\nStraight draw pot (capped at 9)\n\n\n\nThree-head progressive format\n\n\n\nRaffle prizes\n\n\n\n50/50 raffle\n\n\n\nComplimentary BBQ and refreshments following the competition\n\n\n\nDummy roping for children 14 and under\n\n\n\nCustom prizes awarded to the top five headers and heelers\n\n\n\n\nSupport Albertans Living with ALS\n\n\n\nEvery dollar raised through the Howard Smith Memorial Team Roping helps the ALS Society of Alberta provide equipment\, client services\, and support programs for Albertans living with and affected by ALS. \n\n\n\nJoin us for a day of competition\, community\, and western hospitality as we celebrate 25 years of making a difference.
