The ALS Society of Alberta is the only provincial organization dedicated to making each day the best possible day for people living with and affected by ALS. The ALS Society achieves its mission by providing support, facilitating the provision of care, promoting awareness, helping find a cure and advocating for change.
Every donation goes toward fulfilling the Society’s mission, by providing the best possible support for those living with ALS in Alberta through the equipment loan program, support groups, home visits, referrals and support for children.
Easing the financial burden.
Costs for essential equipment are often prohibitive, ranging from tens of thousands to well over $100,000 – and thanks to your support, this cost is reduced to $0.
Items like wheelchairs, power lifts, ramps and text-to-speech tools allow ALS clients to do things they thought impossible before, and your donations allow them to access these items at no cost to them.
Our Equipment Loan Program and Amazon Wishlist were successful last year, thanks to donors like you.
Creating a space for connection and compassion.
Hybrid support sessions allow our community to come together whenever, wherever: and they made the most of it, meeting 74 times in 2025. In addition, our dedicated client service representatives made personal contact with our clients.
Thanks to your donation we can facilitate more support and outreach sessions for those living with ALS so they don’t have to feel alone in their diagnosis.
