A significant portion of the funds raised for the ALS Society of Alberta are a result of the collective effort of hundreds of volunteers in Alberta. Without these volunteers, the Society's operating costs would be much higher and its operating budget would be much, much smaller.
There are many volunteer opportunities within the Society. Opportunities range from special events or awareness-generating initiatives, to helping in the office with administrative duties.
Betty's Run for ALS
Volunteers are being sought to organize the 23rd annual Betty's Run for ALS, taking place on June 9, 2019 in Calgary. Please email email@example.com if you are interested in joining the committee.
Walk to End ALS
Committee volunteers are being sought for various locations around the province. Camrose, Red Deer and Edmonton have a specific need for volunteers. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
Mailouts: At a minimum, this is done quarterly in February, May, August and November (Calgary).
Receipt Verifying: due to a large influx of incoming individual donations during the month of June, there is a need for volunteers during June, July and August to visit the Calgary office and check the accuracy of tax receipts to prepare them for mailing.
Information Booth Hosts: the Society is often invited to set up an information booth at various functions across Alberta.
Other volunteer opportunities arise throughout the year and we are always happy to hear about new and innovative ways to raise funds and awareness.
