Dr. Gordon Jewett
Steering Committee Chair
Dr. Gord Jewett is an Assistant Professor and Neuromuscular Neurologist at the University of Calgary, Director of the University of Calgary’s Neuromuscular and EMG Fellowship Program and co-Principle Investigator of the Canadian Neuromuscular Disease Network (CNDR).

Dr. Gerald Pfeffer

Dr Gerald Pfeffer is an Assistant Professor and Clinician Scientist in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences the University of Calgary and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute.

Dr. Sanjay Kalra
Steering Committee Member
Dr. Sanjay Kalra is a Professor and Henri M. Toupin Chair in Neurological Sciences at the University of Alberta and Director of the Comprehensive Analysis Platform to Understand, Remedy and Eliminate ALS (CAPTURE ALS).

Dr. Kelvin Jones
Steering Committee Member
Dr. Kelvin Jones is a neurophysiologist, computational neuroscientist and Associate Professor at the University of Alberta. He currently serves as the Coordinator for the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute’s graduate student program. He is a member of the management group for the Nerve and Muscle Excitability Special Interest Group and the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology.

Nancy Lyzaniwski

Nancy Lyzaniwski joined the Board of Directors of the ALS Society of Alberta in 2014 and has served as Chair since 2020. She is a government relations specialist with experience in Alberta and Ontario’s provincial and municipal governments, as well as the not-for-profit sector at both provincial and national levels.

Cathy Martin
Steering Committee Member
Cathy Martin has been involved with the ALS Society of Alberta since 2003, first serving as the coordinator of the Walk to End ALS in Edmonton before joining the Board of Directors.

Leslie Ring Adams
Steering Committee Member
Leslie Ring Adams is the Executive Director of the ALS Society of Alberta and has dedicated her career to the organization, with a background rooted in Client Services. She brings a long-standing commitment to client-centered care and the Society’s mission.

Kelsie Snow
Project Manager
Kelsie Snow joins AARN as the direct liaison between clinicians and researchers and the Society and ALS community. As project manager, Kelsie works with Alberta doctors, researchers and research trainees to identify, grow and fund ALS research being done in the province and to bring that information back to the Society and the community.
